Ambassador of Malaysia Meeting with the Chairman of Tashkent City Chamber of Commerce (TCC) on 12th January 2010
On 12th January 2010 Ambassador Abdul Aziz visited the Tashkent City Chamber of Commerce (TCC) and paid a courtesy call on Mr. Shavkat Mirzayev, the Chairman of the Tashkent city Chamber of Commerce and other officials of the TCC.
2. The Meeting between Ambassador Abdul Aziz and Mr. Shavkat Mirzayev was also as a follow-up to the Meeting with Mr. Alisher Shaykhov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in December, 2008 in order to enhance bilateral economic, trade and investment relations between Malaysia and Uzbekistan.
3. The purpose of the Meeting was to discuss and exchange views on the further development of the economic, trade and investment relations between Malaysian and Uzbekistan. In particular, Ambassador Abdul Aziz informed that the Malaysia companies are interested to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with their Uzbek counterparts in various areas such as the construction of low-cost housing and service apartments in Tashkent, establishment of joint venture companies on the manufacturing of automobile tires using rubber imported from Malaysia, food processing based on Malaysia finish and semi finish palm oil and cocoa based products.
4. Ambassador Abdul Aziz also took the opportunity to inform Mr. Shavkat Mirzayev on the interest of Malaysian company to supply biometrical citizenship passports to Uzbekistan as part of the Uzbekistan government’s programme to introduce biometrical passports from 2011. Ambassador Abdul Aziz and Mr. Shavkat Mirzayev also discussed the participation of TCC member companies and firms in various industrial and trade exhibitions which will be held in Malaysia in 2010.
