Travel Advisory

Malaysians currently living in the Republic of Uzbekistan are encouraged to consider the following important points while enjoying their vacation/personal matters outside of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

  1. Prior to your departure, kindly visit Wisma Putra's website at http://www.kln.gov.my to review the visa requirements and ensure that your passport remains valid for more than six months from your arrival date in the country you plan to visit.

  2. In adddition, it is advisable to send an email to the nearest Malaysian Embassy or Consulate in the country you will be visiting. In your correspondence, please include your full name, the names of any family members accompanying you, the name and address of your hotel or accommodation, as well as the duration of your stay. The address for the Malaysian Embassy or Consulate can be found on the Ministry's official website at http://www.kln.gov.my.

  3. It is highly recommended that you secure comprehensive travel insurance prior to your journey abroad. It is advisable to ensure that your policy encompasses medical treatment, accidents, and unforeseen losses, including cancelled flights, stolen cash, cards, passports, or luggage. It would be prudent to ensure that sufficient coverage is provided to accommodate any additional expenses associated with traveling home. Should you possess private medical coverage, it would be prudent to consult with your insurer regarding your coverage for international travel. If such coverage is included, kindly inquire about the procedures to access this benefit.

  4. When traveling outside of the territories of the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is advisable to carry with you the complete address and contact number of the Malaysian Embassy or Consulate in your destination country.

  5. Should you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of a lost passport, we kindly advise you to visit the nearest Malaysian Embassy or Consulate to initiate the application process for an Emergency Certificate. The following supporting documents are necessary: a) Two passport-size photographs (white background); b) A copy of MyKad, Malaysian Identity Card, or Birth Certificate; c) A copy of your passport; d) A police report, along with an English translation; and e) Fees (Kindly inquire with the Malaysian Embassy or Consulate responsible for issuing the Emergency Certificate).

  6. It is crucial for everyone to be aware that the Malaysian Emergency Certificate is intended solely for travel purposes to return to Malaysia or to the Republic of Uzbekistan, provided that you are residing in Uzbekistan. It is important to note that many countries do not recognize the Emergency Certificate as a valid travel document.
