The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (MOFA) together with the ASEAN Women Community’s Circle in Hanoi (AWCH) co-organized the “ASEAN Family Day” at the new headquarters of MOFA on 25 August 2018 (Saturday). The event was held in conjunction with the 3rd anniversary of the establishment of AWCH as well as ASEAN month. The event commenced as early as 6.30am with the ASEAN Friendship cycling event where ASEAN diplomats cycled for 8 km from the old HQ to the new HQ of MOFA. Malaysian cycling team was represented by H.E. Dato’ Zamruni Khalid, together with the Defense Attaché and Assistant Defense Attaché.
All ASEAN Embassies were requested to participate at the event by showcasing their countries’ cultural performances, food and games. Malawakil Hanoi prepared congkak and batu seremban. For traditional cuisine, Malawakil Hanoi prepared karipap, mixed fritters and steamed banana cake. Datin Arfah Nadiah, Spouse of Ambassador and Puan Roslina Mat Dom, PA to Ambassador participated at the poco-poco performance. Master Muhammad Aniq Mikail, son of the Third Secretary represented the Malaysian Embassy at the ‘Future ASEAN Ambassador’s’ quiz.
