The ASEAN Foreign Minister’s Retreat was held in Nha Trang, Vietnam on 17 January 2020. The Ministers welcomed and expressed support for the five thematic priorities set out under Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship for 2020, under the theme “Cohesive and Responsive”. The Ministers also discussed the implementation of decisions made by the ASEAN Leaders in 2019, as well as practical measures to further the interests of the ASEAN Community.
H.E. Dato’ Shariffah Norhana Syed Mustaffa, Ambassador of Malaysia received the Minister in Nha Trang, together with the ASEAN delegation from Wisma Putra. Other than the Foreign Minister, representatives from Malaysia include YBhg. Dato’ Sri Muhammad Shahrul Ikram as the SOM Leader, YBhg. Dato’Ahmad Rozian Abd Ghani, Director General of ASEAN, YM Tengku Dato’ SirajuzzamanTengku Mohamed Ariffin, Deputy Director of ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC), Miss Rina Hanis Rodzli, Director of APSC and Mr. Shivanand Sivamohan, Assistant Director of APSC.
