ENTRY RESTRICTIONS FOR LONG TERM VISA HOLDERS FROM INDIA, INDONESIA AND THE PHILIPPINES FROM 7 SEPTEMBER 2020
1. The Government of Malaysia has announced on 1 September 2020 that beginning 7 September 2020, all Long Term Visa holders from India, Indonesia and the Philippines will not be allowed to enter Malaysia.
2. The decision was made due to the increasing number of COVID-19 infections in those countries.
3. Below are the list of Long Term Visa holders that are restricted from entering Malaysia:
(i) Permanent Residents;
(ii) Malaysia My Second Home Visa Holders (MM2H);
(iii) All Expatriates – Employment Pass (Category I, II and III), Resident –Talent Pass (RTP), Professional Visit Pass (Expert Group) and Dependent Pass;
(iv) Resident Pass;
(v) Student Pass;
(vi) Temporary Employment Pass; and
(vii) Husband / Wife / Children to Malaysian citizen
4. The above restrictions are also imposed to any foreign nationals that has a Long Term Visit Visa to India, Indonesia and the Philippines.
5. Exemptions are only allowed to diplomats and ship crew members that enter Malaysia for sign-on or joint ship.
6. Transit at the airport for those nationals mentioned above are allowed provided they do not enter the country.
