FLAG HOISTING CEREMONY
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 63RD NATIONAL DAY OF MALAYSIA
IN HANOI, VIETNAM

On 31 August 2020, the Embassy of Malaysia organized a Flag Hoisting Ceremony in conjunction with the 63rd National Day of Malaysia at the chancery in Hanoi, Vietnam.
- More than 60 guests attended the event, including H.E. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs as the Guest of Honour, Madam Nguyen Phuong Nga, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organization (VUFO), H.E. Saadi Salama, Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Vietnam, ASEAN Ambassadors, Charge d’ Affaires and Vietnamese Government Officials. Malaysians living and working in Hanoi as well as members of the MTCP Alumni were also present.
- The event started at 1400hrs with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony at the Embassy’s compound. During the ceremony, the Jalur Gemilang was raised accompanied by the National Anthem “Jalur Gemilang”. The ceremony continued with the recitation of Rukun Negara by all Malaysians.
- After the recitation of Rukun Negara, all guests adjourned to the lobby area for the welcoming remarks by the Ambassador and speech by the Guest of Honour. Guests were then served with a variety of mouthwatering Malaysian dishes such as satay, nasi lemak, biryani kambing, rendang ayam, char kuey teow, mee kari and various Malaysian deserts. The favorite Malaysian drink - teh tarik and Air Batu Campur (ABC) were also served at the reception. While enjoying the food, a video of the special concert of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in conjunction with the 63rd National Day Celebration prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia was shown.
