ENTRY PROCESS FOR PERSON UNDER SURVEILLANCE
FROM OVERSEAS
RECOVERY MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER PHASE
10 JUNE – 31 AUGUST 2020
1. On 7 June 2020, YAB Prime Minister has announced that the Conditional Movement Control Order will end on 9 June 2020 and Malaysia will enter into the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) phase from 10 June – 31 August 2020.
2. YAB Prime Minister also announced that inter-state travel is allowed from 10 June 2020 under the RMCO except in areas remaining under the Enhanced Movement Control Order.
3. Malaysians and foreigners returning from abroad will no longer be confined at any gazetted quarantine centers (hotels and quarantine centers) for 14 days.
4. Malaysians and foreigners that wishes to return to Malaysia need to download MySejahtera application in their phones. MySejahtera is an application developed by Government of Malaysia to assist in managing the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. It also allows users to perform health self-assessment. 5. Upon arrival, those who are positive will be sent to the hospitals immediately for treatment. Those who are negative will undergo a 14-days quarantine in their home as registered in the MySejahtera applications.
6. Upon arrival, both foreigners and Malaysians will be issued a wristband for easy of identification and monitoring by the authorities.
7. Letter of Undertaking and Indemnity and also the Letter of Approval from any Malaysian Missions are no longer required for any travelling Malaysians and non-citizens.
8. Foreigners under the category of MM2H holders, Expatriates and spouse/dependents of Malaysian nationals (non-Malaysian citizens) are categorized as foreigners that can enter Malaysia. However, this is subject to approval from the Director General of the Department of Immigration of Malaysia. Application must be done directly with the Department of Immigration of Malaysia and approval must be obtained prior entry to Malaysia.
9. For Expatriates category, the Department of Immigration of Malaysia has released a latest guidelines for the entry of Expatriates / Skilled Workers / Knowledge Workers Entering Malaysia for Key Posts and Technical Posts, and for Dependents and Foreign Maids during the Recovery Movement Control Order Phase (RMCO). 10. Foreigners under the category of diplomats and embassy staffs and their dependents are allowed to enter Malaysia. Application must be done by their respective Missions in Kuala Lumpur and approval must be obtained from the Protocol Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia prior entering Malaysia.
11. All foreigners entering Malaysia will have to undergo home quarantine at the address registered with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia.
