In conjunction with the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral relations between Malaysia and Vietnam, the Embassy of Malaysia in Hanoi together with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organization co-organised a cultural exchange programme at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam on 24 April 2018. The event was to promote Malaysian culture to Vietnamese students as well as the members of the Vietnam-Malaysia friendship association in Hanoi.
The Embassy managed to bring over a cultural troupe from the National Department for Culture and Arts of Malaysia with the assistance of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Malaysia. There were a variety of traditional dance performances from the Malaysian troupe. Among others were Inang, Zapin, Joget and Asyik.
