On 28 June 2019, the Embassy of Malaysia in Hanoi, together with Education Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City, organised a Seminar on Education Opportunities in Malaysia at Hanoi Club, Hanoi, Vietnam. The seminar was held in conjunction with the annual get-together session with the MTCP Alumni in Vietnam. Around 40 people participated in the seminar ranging from the MTCP Alumni, representatives of high schools in Hanoi, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, high school students as well as members of the Malaysia Club.
The seminar was conducted by Mr. Chong Wai Kit, Education Consul from the Consulate General Office of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City. He presented on the opportunities for Vietnamese students to continue their tertiary education in Malaysia. Malaysia offers a well-balanced public and private universities with excellent courses on par with the top universities in the world at low costs. After the briefing from Mr. Wai Kit, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, President of the MTCP Alumni shared his experience in participating in the MTCP programme in Malaysia.
The attendees listened attentively to the presentation that lasted for around 45 minutes. Subsequently, there was a question and answer session. During this session, participants actively asked questions and realised that such awareness campaign is very useful to the Vietnamese. Most of the participants were not aware of such opportunity and would like to get more information from Education Malaysia on this subject. A buffet dinner was served at the end of the seminar, with a variety of Vietnamese and Malaysian cuisine.
