Passport Renewal
APPLICATION FOR NEW INTERNATIONAL MALAYSIAN PASSPORT (PMA)
AND PASSPORT RENEWAL
Malaysian citizens residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) may renew their passports or apply for a new passport at the Embassy of Malaysia in Abu Dhabi. Malaysian citizens in UAE are kindly advised to submit their applications early, e.g. six (6) months before their passports expire.
Application Requirements:
- Application must be done in person at the Embassy.
- Passport Application Form must be completed and submitted together with copies of the necessary documents.
Required documents:
- Application for citizens 13 years old and above
- Passport Application form (click IM. 42 – Pin. 1/97) please print on both side of an A4 paper
- Parents’ consent Form for applicant 18 years old and below (click IM 42A - Pin. 1/93)
- Two (2) passport size photos (latest photos, white background, dark shirt, without glasses, without accessories, hair must not cover the forehead and ears)
- Original and two (2) copies of Malaysian Passport
- Original and two (2) copies of Malaysia Identity Card (IC)
- Original and two (2) copies of valid UAE Residency Visa or Emirates ID Card (EID)
- Application for citizens below 12 years old
- Passport Application form (click IM. 42 – Pin. 1/97) please print on both side of an A4 paper
- Parents’ consent Form (click IM 42A - Pin. 1/93)
- Two (2) passport size photos (latest photos, white background, dark shirt, without glasses, without accessories, hair must not cover the forehead and ears)
- Original and two (2) copies of Child’s Birth Certificate and Borang W or H (if born abroad)
- Original and two (2) copies of Child’s Original Passport (not required for new born registration)
- Original and two (2) copies of valid UAE Residency Visa or Emirates ID Card (EID), (not required for new born registration)
- Original and two (2) copies of Malaysia MyKid (not required for new born registration)
- Original and two (2) copies of Parents Original Passport
- Original and two (2) copies of Parents Malaysia Identity Card (IC)
- Original and two (2) copies of Marriage Certificate
Fees:
- Children of 12 years old and below = AED90.00
- Ordinary applicants (13 – 59 years old) = AED180.00
- Senior citizens (60 years old or above) = AED90.00
- Students doing a degree programme at any university or institute of higher learning in UAE (21 years old and below) = AED90.00 (a proof of study is required to be produced at the time of application in order to qualify for this fee).
- Disabled person = Exempted / Gratis (a proof of registration with Social Welfare Department of Malaysia is required to be produced at the time of application in order to qualify for this fee)
Mode of payment: Cash only.
Processing Time:
Passport application will normally take between 3-5 months from the date of application until handing over the new passport to the applicants. The duration is due to the documents and passports being couriered to the Department of Immigration Headquarters in Putrajaya for processing.
Note:
Kindly bring along all the original documents and to provide two (2) photocopies of each document in A4 size.
