EID FITR CELEBRATION WITH MALAYSIAN EXPATRIATS IN DUBAI, UAE
ON 1 SYAWAL 2017
On 1 Syawal 2017, the Consulate General of Malaysia together with Malaysian Business Council in the UAE (MBC) co-hosted “Eid Fitr celebration with Malaysian Expatriates” at the Malaysian Trade Centre Hall, Dubai. The event is also one of the public diplomacy programme organised by the Consulate General of Malaysia, Dubai to establish rapport with Malaysian overseas.
The event was attended by more than 200 Malaysian expatriates together with their families from Dubai and Northern Emirates. A group of Singaporean Muslims also joined the event. The Eid Fitr khutbah was delivered by Ustaz Norsam Abdul Rahman, Vice Consul of the Education Malaysia office to fellow Muslims at the main hall.
Various Malaysian mouthwatering delicacies such as nasi lemak, mee goreng, nasi impit, rendang and etc. were served during the said event. Those delicacies were prepared in the spirit of togetherness by Malaysians and the Consulate Office. The event gave an opportunity for Malaysians in Dubai and Northern Emirates to assemble and celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri together in the month of Syawal in Dubai, UAE.
