MELBOURNE, FEB 20 (Bernama) -- Malaysian property developer S P Setia Bhd's multi-million Fulton Lane apartment project in the central business district here is ''going full steam ahead in one go'', said Setia's Melbourne Chief Executive Choong Kai Wai last night.

"Piling works are completd and the tower crane is up and construction is being carried out by the biggest and best apartment builder in Melbourne, Hockory,'' he said to the cheers of a large gathering of associates and well-wishers at a picnic-style Chinese New Year celebration.

It was held on the picturesque site of Setia's next major development, Parque Melbourne, in St Kilda Road, which will be launched in June.

Describing as it as 'one of the best designs I have seen anywhere in the world", Choong said Parque Melbourne would offer the finest quality finishes and world-class rooftop facilities on 9,000 square metres of land with a private park-like setting.

"Fulton Lane and Parque Melbourne will define Setia's brand in Australia and we are right up there with (leading Australian developers) Mirvac or Lend Lease. In face, we will strive to be better than them," he added.

Choong said Setia President and Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin " has a very big heart, hence Setia has a big heart".

"We have the heart to ensure every success of these projects," he said.

Malaysian Consul-General Dr Mohd Rameez Yahaya said it was encouraging to see Malaysian companies making their mark in a big way in Australia.

"Choong is hard-working and very enthusiastic about Setia projects and this augurs well for the company," Mohd Rameez said.
