Governor Alex Chernov hosted a reception at the Government House yesterday evening (Tuesday, 23 June 2015 from 6 -7.30 pm) to recognise contribution of individuals and organisations to the Victorian Community. Consul General of Malaysia, Dr Rameez whom is the current Dean of the Consular Corps of Victoria was also invited to the event which saw the attendance of more than 500 guests.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews had announced early this year that long-serving Family Court Judge and AFL Commissioner, The Hon Linda Dessau AM, will be appointed as the 29th Governor of Victoria. The term of the present 28th Governor, His Excellency The Hon Alex Chernov AC QC, will end next week on Tuesday 30 June 2015.
