Workshop on Islamic Finance at Monash University, Caufield Campus, 900 Dandenong Road, Caufield.
Islamic Finance is rapidly expanding, achieving annual growth rates of 15%. However, its increasing salience has led to heated debates in both academic and practitioner circles on the distinctiveness of Islamic Finance. The workshop today (Monday, 3/11/2014 from 9.30 am till 4.30 pm) held at Building A of the Monash Caufield Campus bring together experts in conventional and Islamic finance from a variety of disciplines, including economics, law and politics, to assess and discuss the extent of the variation between Islamic and Conventional Finance. Among those participating in the said workshop are Dr Kerstin Steiner (Monash University), Dr Jikon Lai (Melbourne University), Dr Engku Rabiah (IIM), Professor Datuk Dr Mohamed Arrif (INCEIF), Professor Dr Mohamed Ariff (Bond University), Dr Rameez (Consul General) and Mr Joe Perri (President of AMBC- Victoria)
