The Embassy of Malaysia in Brussels, together with Malaysian Association of Belgium and Luxembourg (MABL), organized a Malaysian Family Day 2015, at Rumah Malaysia on Saturday, 13 June 2015. A total of 150 guests including Embassy’s staff, students, Malaysians living in Belgium and their family members attended the event from 1.00 – 5.00 p.m.
The event, held as part of the Program Mendampingi Rakyat Malaysia (PMRM), afforded the Malaysian diaspora in Belgium to come together, network and forge closer relations including with the Embassy of Malaysia. A variety of interesting games including a colouring competition, musical chairs, running in sarung and tarik tali were held with the enthusiastic participation from both children and adults and with prizes given to the winners of all the games.
The 2015 Malaysian Family Day was a truly collaborative affair with the members of MABL contributing food as well including barbeque and various dishes to complement and supplement the food and drinks provided by the Embassy in the spirit of gotong royong and sumbang-sama that is part of the Malaysian cultural norm.
