The 3rd Round of Malaysia-EU PCA Negotiations was held in Berlaymont Bulding in Brussels on 16-18 November 2011.

The delegation of Malaysia was led by Dato’ Lim Kim Eng, Undersecretary of Europe, Ministry of Foreign Affairs while the delegation of the EU was led by Mr. Seamus Gillespie, Director (Acting) of Asia, European External Action Service. The Delegation of Malaysia was composed of 19 officials from the relevant Ministries/Agencies and the Mission of Malaysia to the EU.

The negotiations were preceded by two sessions of technical discussion held on 16 November 2011. These sessions provided the opportunity for the experts from both sides to clarify their respective positions on the agreement as well as to seek further clarification on the proposed amendments.

Based on the good progress made during all three negotiations held this year, both sides were confident and hopeful that the negotiations could be concluded by the end of 2012. The next round of negotiations would take place in Malaysia in February 2012.
