On the eve of Hari Malaysia, H.E. Dato' Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak hosted a reception commemorating 68 years of the country's independance. The event gathered approximately 200 guests, including members from the diplomatic corps, trade and customs community, academia and think tanks, media and many long standing friends of Malaysia. The Ambassador welcomed H.E. Pierre Cartuyvels, Chief of Protocol from theas well as H.E. Olof Skoog, Deputy Secretary-General (Political) from as guests of honour in marking this special occasion. Guests were treated to traditional Malaysian cuisine featuring delicious satay from, and a special performance of seni Silat Gayung Fattani by Cikgu as well as live batik painting demonstration by the Ambassador's own daughters.
