ASEAN Brussels Committee (ABC) Meeting

The Meeting of the ABC Ambassadors was held at the Embassy of Malaysia on 8 September 2009, chaired by H.E. Dato' Hussein Haniff, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Belgium concurrently accredited to Luxembourg and the European Community.

This is the first meeting of the ABC Committee under the Chairmanship of Malaysia beginning from 1 July 2009 to 31 December 2009.

Among the issues discussed during the meeting were the programmes and activities that will be carried out until December 2009 including the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the 'Orientation Course for Diplomats from ASEAN Countries to the European Commission'?. The ABC Ambassadors also exchanged views on the outcome of the several major ASEAN Meetings held in July namely the 42nd AMM/PMC/16th ARF, Phuket, Thailand and the 6th ASEAN+3 (China, Japan and Korea) Ministers on Energy Meeting, Mandalay, Myanmar, that were held on  23 and 29 July 2009, respectively.
