In conjunction with the 5th Round of Negotiations on Malaysia-EU FTA held in Brussels on 18-21 October 2011, Dato' Lim Kim Eng, Undersecretary of Europe Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia took the opportunity to have her familiarization tour to Brussels, following her appointment to the said post in September 2011.
Aside from attending a number of working groups sessions during the FTA negotiations, Dato' Lim made courtesy calls on H.E. Ambassador Bertrand De Crombrugghe, Head (South East Asia/Oceania) and H.E. Ambassador Liliane Bloem, Deputy Director General (Coordination and European Affairs) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belgium and on H.E. Ambassador Viorel Isticioaia Budura, Managing Director (Asia and Pacific), European External Action Service. Dato' Lim also had a discussion with officials of the Embassy/Mission on the bilateral relations between Malaysia and Belgium, Luxembourg and the EU.
