On 5 March 2009, HE Dato' Hussein Haniff was invited to attend a lunch reception hosted by Mr. Rudy Demotte, Minister-President of the Walloon Government for the ASEAN Brussels Community.
Attended by all ASEAN head of Mission, the event was held at Chateau de la Hulp, one of the prestigious landmarks in the Walloon Region.
Before the service started, Mr. Rudy Demotte delivered a warm welcoming speech and highlighted some of the achievements of the people of the Walloon region. He stressed that ASEAN countries is an important trading bloc of Belgium especially to the Walloon Government. He called for a closer relationship between officials from the respective Government with the Walloon Government.
