The Embassy of Malaysia hosted on 5 June 2011 with Malaysian students in Belgium and Luxembourg in conjunction with the visit of Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (Coalition of Peninsular Malaysia Students, GPMS) which was on its Europe tour. Sixteen students with their spouse and family and 40 GPMS representatives, led by its president, Mr. Jais Abdul Karim attended the event. Twelve Embassy officials with spouse and family members was also present.
The objective of the GPMS tour was to engage and inform students on the latest ongoings in Malaysia and issues pertaining to their rights. Malaysian students had a discussion with the GPMS representatives regarding their own education facilities and their expertise. GPMS highlighted that Malaysia needs more of its own talent to contribute to the growth of the country.
