The ASEAN Brussels Committee (ABC),under the six-month rotating chairmanship (July-December 2011) of theEmbassy/Mission of Vietnam, undertook a working visit to theEuropean Parliament (EP) in Strasbourg, France on 26 October 2011. The visit providedan avenue for the ASEAN Ambassadors to meet and have an exchange of views onASEAN-EU relations and other issues of common interest with Members of theEuropean Parliament (MEPs) responsible for EU-ASEAN/Southeast Asiarelations.
The ABC Ambassadors had a meeting with Mr. Libor Roucek, EP Vice-President With SpecialResponsibility For Relations With Asia and the EP Delegation For Relations WithASEAN/Southeast Asia (DASE), one of the 41 delegations established at the EP. Ledby Mr. Werner Langen (Germany),DASE consists of 22 permanent members and 19 alternate members.
