Working Visit of Honourable Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities of Malaysia to Belgium

Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Honourable Tan Sri Bernard G. Dompok undertook a Working Visit to Brussels from 14 to 16 November 2010 in further promoting the sustainability of our palm oil industry and timber industries.

 

 

 

The Honourable Minister was accompanied by key individual involves in the promotion of Malaysian palm oil and timber industries among others such as:

 

i.      YB Dato’ Seri Utama Shahrir bin Abdul Samad,

     Chairman of Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB),

 

ii.    YBhg. Dato’ Lee Yeow Chor,

     Chairman Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC),

 

iii.    YBhg. Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau

                    Chairman Malaysian Timber Industry Board

 

iv.    Mr. Cheah Kam Huan

                    Chief Executive Officer, Malaysian Timber Council

 

v.    YBhg. Dato’ Carl Bek Nielsen

     Council Member of MPOC

 

 

During the visit, the delegation had fruitful discussions with EU Officials among others H.E. Janez Poto?nik, EU Commissioner for the Environment, H.E. Connie Hedegaard, EU Commissioner for Climate Action, H.E. G?nther Oettinger, EU Commissioner for Energy, H,E. Alejo Vidal-Quadras, Vice-President of the European Parliament, H.E. Nirj Deva, Mep, Vice-Chairman, Development Committee of the European Parliament, and H.E. Martin Callanan, Environment Committee of the European Parliament.
