Honourable Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia made a working visit to Brussels, Belgium on 11 July 2011. He was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Mission of Malaysia to the European Union.
During this visit, Dato' Sri Mustapa had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Karel de Gucht, EU’s Trade Commissioner. They discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interests, particularly on:
- the progress of Malaysia–EU FTA negotiations; and
- meaningful deliverables on WTO Doha Development Agenda by end of 2011.
Dato’ Sri Mustapa also had 'one-on-one' meetings with three Belgian companies regarding their investments in Malaysia.
