Missing Person
MISSING PERSON
Family relative/family/acquaintance should report the missing person at the Embassy of Malaysia.
Among the information required for the report are as follows:
i. Complete name of the person
ii. Place and date of birth
iii. Details of the Malaysia passport
iv. Identification card number
v. Date departed from Malaysia
vi. Date of arrival at the particular country
vii. Complete address and telephone number of the missing person (if available)
viii. Last known address of the place of work (if available)
ix. Name and address of family to be contacted in Malaysia
x. Name, address and telephone of the person making the report/government agency involved
xi. Reason for going abroad
The Embassy will investigate the case and the family will be informed of the result of the investigation. If found, the family will have to bear the cost of bringing the person home (flight ticket and other costs incurred). The money needs to be deposited to the Embassy and a receipt will be issued.
The family will be informed of the details of arrival. The family will have to wait to receive the person at the airport or other entry points in Malaysia.
