Y.B. Dato’ Dr. Mujahid Yusof Rawa, Minister (Religious Affairs) at the Prime Minister’s Department was on working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) from 26th to 28th September 2018 to attend Sarajevo Halal Fair (SHF) 2018. During the working visit, Y.B. Minister also met with H.E. Mr. Abdullah Skaka, Mayor of Sarajevo City, H.E. Mr. Adil Osmanovic, Minister of Civil Affairs, BiH, His Eminence Hussein ef. Kavazovic, Grand Mufti of BiH and several businessmen including Mr. Amer Bukvic, Chief Executive Officer of Bosna Bank International d.o.o. (BBI). Y.B. Minister also witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) and BBI on promotion of Halal Fair.
SHF is an international halal industry exhibition held for the first time in BiH hosted by BBI in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank (ISDB). The event was hosted with the aim to provide opportunity for the businessmen and entrepreneurs of halal products all over the world to showcase their products and establish contacts with international representatives of halal industries that attended the Fair. To name a few, participants were from Bangladesh, Bahrain, Libya, Macedonia, Montenegro, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, etc. Malaysia was represented by more than 150 business representatives and attendees at the exhibition.
A get-together with Malaysians was held upon the arrival of Y.B. Minister in Sarajevo on 26 September hosted by H.E. Ambassador Zakri Jaafar at the Official Residence. Malaysians in BiH had the opportunity not only interacting with Y.B. Minister but was given an informative lecture by the Minister.
