On 1 May 2025, His Excellency Datuk Mohd Aini Atan, on behalf of the ASEAN Heads of Missions in Brunei, hosted a farewell dinner at the official residence in honor of the outgoing Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Her Excellency Sengdavanh Vongsay, as well as the newly appointed Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations in New York, Her Excellency Pengiran Hairani Pengiran Tajudin.
The dinner was attended by Heads of Mission of ASEAN Member States in Brunei, along with the Permanent Secretary (ASEAN) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Brunei, Madam Hajah Johariah Abdul Wahab. The gathering provided a valuable platform for diplomatic engagement and meaningful exchanges among distinguished guests.
His Excellency Datuk Mohd Aini Atan also took the opportunity to brief the ASEAN Heads of Mission in Brunei on Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, particularly outlining the notional calendar of ASEAN meetings and key high-level engagements scheduled to take place in Malaysia this year.
His Excellency Datuk extends his sincere best wishes to Her Excellency Sengdavanh Vongsay and Her Excellency Pengiran Hairani Pengiran Tajudin as they embark on their respective diplomatic assignments.
