On 17 November 2022, H.E Raja Dato' Reza was invited to attend the National Flag Handing Over Ceremony to Brunei's contingent for the 1st SEA Deaf Games 2022 that will be held in Kuala Lumpur from 21 to 27 November 2022. The ceremony was graced by Honourable Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Brunei. Also present were Permanent Secretaries and senior officials of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as well as National Hearing Impaired members.
Brunei's contingent is comprised of 13 members, including 6 deaf athletes for the 1st SEA Deaf Games 2022. Brunei will participate in 2 out of 5 sporting events contested in the games, namely athletics and tenpin bowling.
