On 12 March 2012, Mr. Ugo Tramballi, Senior Correspondent and Columnist on international issues of the Italian newspaper Il SOLE 24 ORE made a courtesy call on Ambassador Datin Paduka Halimah Abdullah. The meeting was aimed at discussing on how the reputable Italian newspaper could help promote Malaysia’s interests in Italy and increase awareness, profile and visibility of Malaysia to Italians. Several suggestions were made to jointly publish some articles on Malaysia in the Il SOLE 24 ORE, Italian third largest daily newspapers by average circulation. Similarly, last week such a meeting was also held with another Italian newspaper, la Repubblica. These meetings are in line with the Embassy’s public diplomacy effort in engaging local media at post.
