On 12 May, the Embassy was pleased to organise an engaging conversation on Malaysia-Italy bilateral relations, as well as Italy’s perspectives on the global strategic environment and the Indo-Pacific, for participants from the Malaysian Armed Forces Defense College (MAFDC).
The panel included Dato’ Zahid speaking on ‘Malaysia-Italy Bilateral Relations, and Italy’s Contribution to the Indo-Pacific’; Mr. Alessandro Marrone of the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) discussing on ‘Italian Foreign and Defence Policy during the Giorgia Meloni Government’; and Mr. Emmanuele Panero from Centro Studi Internazionali (CeSI) contributing on ‘Europe and the Indo-Pacific: Two Connected Theatres’.
Welcoming remarks were provided by First Admiral Mohd Kindil Mohd Akim, Defense Attache, on behalf of the Embassy, and by Vice Admiral Datuk Sabri Zali, President of the National Centre for Defense Studies (Pusat Pengajian Pertahanan Nasional - PUSPAHANAS).
