Strengthening Malaysia-Italy economic relations, and widening awareness on the global halal market and the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2026 - the world’s premier halal trade platform - the Embassy in Rome, with MATRADE and MIDA Milan, held the “Business Seminar: Malaysia-Italy Halal Diplomacy” on 8 May.
Malaysia-Italy bilateral trade reached a historic €3.4 billion (RM16.69 billion) in 2025, a 14.2% increase. Dato’ Zahid highlighted that Malaysia’s halal standards are a global benchmark for Quality, Ethics, and Sustainability. With the global Halal market projected to reach USD 5 trillion by 2030, Malaysia is well poised to bridge our world-leading halal ecosystem with the excellence of “Made in Italy”.
