Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim undertook a working visit to Brunei Darussalam on 25 and 26 August 2024 in conjunction with the 25th Malaysia -Brunei Darussalam Annual Leaders’ Consultation (ALC-25).
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Foreign Minister Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Haji Hasan; Chief Minister of Sabah Datuk Seri Panglima Hj Hajiji bin Haji Noor; Minister of Investment Trade and Industry Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz; Minister of Higher Education Senator Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir; Minister of Education Mrs Fadhlina Sidek; Deputy Premier of Sarawak Datuk Paduka Seri Laila Jasa Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan; Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Haji Hasbi Habibollah; Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Mr Adam Adli Abd Halim; Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Religious Affairs Senator Dr. Zulkifli Hasan; and senior government officials.
Three bilateral instruments were inked during ALC-25 namely MoU Phase One of the Joint Demarcation and Survey of the Land Boundary; MoU on Transport Co-operation; and Exchange of Notes on Land Boundary. The visit underscores the importance of continuing to strengthen the special relationship between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam, paving the way for enhanced collaboration for mutual benefit.
