Alumni members from Universiti Malaya - Brunei Chapter gathered at Orchid Garden Hotel yesterday afternoon for a Hari Raya gathering bringing together several ex-ministers and high-ranking senior government officials.
The former Minister of Education, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Hj Abd Rahman Dato Setia Hj Mohamed Taib, was among those who turned up for the event.
He was joined by other alumni advisers including the current Minister of Education, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Hj Abu Bakar bin Hj Apong, as well as the former Minister of Culture, Youth & Sports, Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Ahmad bin Hj Jumat, and Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad bin Pengiran Hj Abdul Rahman - all graduates of the prestigious Malaysian university.
The Brunei Chapter was officially established in June 2009, and would help in the university's mission to maintain its relations with alumni members in the Sultanate, as well as to provide an ongoing service to its former graduates.
The Universiti Malaya - Brunei Chapter has over 100 local members.
