AHMAD SHAZRIL BIN SUHAIMI

Mr. Ahmad Shazril bin Suhaimi assumed his duties as the Consul General of Malaysia in Vancouver on 10 January 2026. In this capacity, his jurisdiction extends across the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.

A career diplomat, Mr. Ahmad Shazril joined the Administrative and Diplomatic Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia, in 2006. Throughout his distinguished tenure at the Ministry, he has held key leadership positions, including Assistant Secretary and Principal Assistant Secretary within the Southeast Asia Division, as well as Principal Assistant Secretary at the Finance Division.

His international assignments include serving as First Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia in Khartoum, Sudan, and most recently as Minister Counselor at the Embassy of Malaysia in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Mr. Ahmad Shazril holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). He also earned a Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) and a Diploma in Diplomacy from the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR).
