The ASEAN Cultural Night 2006 was held on 15 November 2006. It was organized by the 5 ASEAN missions in Vancouver namely the Consulate General of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.The event took place at Georgia Room, Lobby Level, Terasen Building, 1111, West Georgia Street, Vancouver. Each ASEAN Mission in Vancouver showcased their respective cultural performance. Malaysia was represented by the Tourism Malaysia's Vancouver Dance Troupe. The Guest of Honour of the night was Honourable John Van Dogen, Minister of State for Intergovernmental Relations, British Columbia.
It was the first time after a long lay off such cultural event was organised concertedly by the ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver Committee (ACGV). Based on the encoraging turn up of guests and positive comments including the guest of honour, the committee agreed to adopt the programme as an annual event and the chief coordinator is rotated according to the alphabetical order of the five missions.
