The ASEAN Consulates General in Vancouver organized the inaugural ASEAN Day Picnic on 8 August 2010. The event was to commemorate the 43rd Anniversary of the Establishment of ASEAN. All staff and family members of the ASEAN Consulates General in Vancouver participated in the event.
The Chairman of the ASEAN Consuls General in Vancouver, Mr Mohd Hassan Bal, Consul General of Malaysia, delivered a short speech about the importance of ASEAN and it’s role in promoting unity among the people of Southeast Asia. All the family members shared their national dishes and cuisines and took part in the games for adults and children.
The event was held successfully despite the inclement weather.
