The Southeast Asia Canada Business Council in collaboration with the Consulate General of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand in Vancouver organized the festival on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Boardwalk 900 Quayside Drive, New Westminster, BC.
The event is aimed at creating public awareness of ASEAN. It is developed to meet the need for an effective medium of interaction between the organizer, the participating parties and the public. It provides vast opportunities to Canadian Public, Business and Entrepreneurs a better perspective on ASEAN Culture and its different and fascinating way of life.
Among other special dignitories at the opening ceremony include Mayor of New Westminster, His Worship Wayne Wright, Mr. Dave Hayer (MLA) and Mr. Richard T. Lee (MLA Burnaby North).
