On 31 January 2020, the Seri Malaysia Club of University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver organised a Chinese New Year gathering for Malaysian students. The Seri Malaysia Club is the official Malaysian Students Association of UBC. The Consul General delivered a short speech thanking the association for the assistance in helping new students to get accustomed to living abroad and away from family.
