DYMM Tuanku Raja Perlis and Tuanku Raja Perempuan Perlis visited Vancouver.

The Consulate General of Malaysia was honored recently to receive the private visit by the DYMM Tuanku Raja Perlis and Tuanku Raja Perempuan Perlis, Malaysia – DYMM Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail and DYMM Tuanku Tengku Fauziah, accompanied by Datuk Dr. Vanamaly K.S. Menon, Mr. Kamil Busu and a tour coordinator from June 16th – June 20th 2007 to Vancouver, Canada.

From the very first day, their Royal Highness absolutely reflected the epithet of graciousness, charisma, thoughtfulness and friendliness towards the Malaysian community and staff of the Consulate. During their stay, the royal couple took in the sights in Vancouver including Stanley Park, Granville Island Craft Centre, Grouse Mountain, Capilano Suspension Bridge, a scenic ferry ride to Victoria and visited the wellknown Butchart Garden and also shopped for both family and friends.

The Consulate General of Malaysia had the proud privilege of holding a dinner reception which was enhanced with karaoke and poco poco. The dinner was also attended by Malaysian Community leaders, businessmen, bankers, and professionals who were very eager to meet the Royal Couple since this is the first visit from a Malaysian Royal Couple to Vancouver. Their Royal Highness once again rose to the occasion by putting everyone at ease with their simplicity, enthusiasm and passion for music. This was clearly portrayed when the Tuanku Raja Perempuan herself took the floor and belted out a few songs and taught everyone how to do the Poco-Poco (a famous line dance).

We hope the royal couple had a sweet and memorable stay in Vancouver and the Consulate General of Malaysia looks forward to hosting them again in the near future. - MENJUNJUNG KASIH TUANKU -
