The Consulate General of Malaysia held a reception on 31 July 2007 to bid farewell to outgoing Consul General, Mr Mat Dris Yaacob and to welcome his successor Mr Mohd Hassan Bal as the new Consul General of Malaysia in Vancouver.
The reception was attended by about 150 officials and friends representing the Consular Corps, British Columbia officials, the Malaysian Association of British Columbia(MABC), Malaysian Canada Business Council(MCBC), the Malaysia Singapore Brunei Cultural Association (MSBCA), the National Malaya and Borneo Veterans Association (NMBVA) and other personal friends of Mr Mat Dris.
Mr. Mat Dris Yaacob served as the Consul General of Malaysia in Vancouver since May 2003 and has thoroughly enjoyed his stint here. His successor, Mr Mohd Hassan has promised to continue the many successes that have been achieved by Mr. Mat Dris.
