MALAYSIA PROMOTION COUNCIL (MPC), VANCOUVER

The Malaysia Promotion Council (MPC), Vancouver was established on 23 May 2007. The council is created to be a platform to discuss all issues relevant to Malaysia and Malaysian in British Columbia (BC) and exist as an official channel for the exchange of ideas in promoting and projecting the image, tourism, trade and business opportunities in Malaysia. It is also aimed to encourage and foster cordial relationships among Malaysian government agencies and community associations in BC.

 

2.         Considering that it would be much more interesting and beneficial if the council could also comprise community and business associations which contribute towards the economic growth of the country, President of Malaysia Canada Business Council (MCBC), Malaysia Singapore Brunei Cultural Association (MSBCA) and Malaysia Association in British Columbia (MABC) has been invited to participate in the establishment of this new council in Vancouver.  In order to coordinate the smooth operations among agencies and associations, the council is headed by the Consul General; and her members consisting of representatives from Tourism Malaysia Canada and associations enumerated above.

 

3.         The inaugural meeting to discuss further on the terms of reference of the council and explore other areas or projects that may be of interest was held on 23 May 2007 at Anjung Seri Conference Room, Consulate General of Malaysia, Vancouver.
