The 49th Anniversary of the National Day of Malaysia Reception was held at the Vancouver Rowing Club, Stanley Park on the 31st August 2006. Approximately 300 guests attended the reception. During the reception, the Consulate publisized Visit Malaysia Year 2007 by displaying bunting and distributing pamphlets. Tourism Malaysia Canada Dance Troupe made a wonderful presentation of traditional Malaysian dance.
The Consulate also took the opportunity to officially present the Pingat Jasa Malaysia (PJM) Award to Mr. Leonard Robson, former Commonwealth Forces who served in Malaysia during the early part of 1960s.
