14/09: In conjunction with Merdeka and Malaysia Day, CGM together with members of the Malaysian community gathered at Stanley Park for a family-style potluck. Even with the rain, the spirit of patriotism shone through as we sang Negaraku, Jalur Gemilang and Keranamu Malaysia with pride and enthusiasm.
CG Afandi also delivered a speech, highlighting the theme of this year’s celebration, Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni, and encouraged Malaysians in Vancouver to continue flying the Jalur Gemilang high.
The afternoon was filled with camaraderie, as everyone joined in both indoor and outdoor games, thoughtfully organized by SMC UBC.
