A small Ceremony to present the Pingat Jasa Malaysia medals to about 30 ex-British servicemen was held at the Terasen Center on 25 September 2010 at 2pm. The PJM were issued by the Ministry of Defence, Malaysia to recognize British and Commonwealth armed forces personnels who had served in Malaysia between 1957 until 1966. The veterans who came with their family received the medals from Mr Mohd Hassan Bal, the Consul General of Malaysia. Before the ceremony, two video presentations about the Emergency period entitled ‘Test of Nationhood’ and ‘Jungle Fort’ were shown to the audience. A small photo exhibition on the Emergency was also held, courtesy of the National Archive of Malaysia.
