The 3rd MABC Badminton Tournament organized by the Board of Directors of the Malaysian Association in British Columbia (MABC) headed by Ms. Gina Hansen, the President of MABC was held on 20 January 2007. Unlike last year, the tournament was well divided into two categories namely, the GOOD and the BETTER players. The format is introduced this year to encourage more participation from Malaysian and friends of Malaysia.
The tournament’s Challenge Trophy donated by the Consul General of Malaysia received overwhelming participation from the Malaysian and local community despite there were a few other tournaments in town held simultaneously on that particular day.
The accomplishment of MABC in organizing this event should be commended. It has without doubt strengthening the solidarity of Malaysian and friends of Malaysia through sports activities. The Consul General of Malaysia in Vancouver presented the challenge trophy and the event was also attended by the President of the Malaysia Singapore Brunei Cultural Association, the President of the Vancouver Singapore Club and the Director of Tourism Malaysia.
