Passport Renewal
REQUIREMENT ON APPLICATION FOR A NEW MALAYSIAN PASSPORT
1. Application form can be obtained at the Consulate-General or download from the website: www.imi.gov.my
2. Original and two copies of Malaysian International Passport
3. Original and two copies of Malaysian I/C
4. For Chinese Permanent Residence, (original and two copies of PR card)
Note: IF you do not posses a Chinese PR Card, you are required to produce ‘Search Letter’ from the Chinese Immigration Citizenship Department confirming that the Chinese Citizenship have not been acquired
5. For Student
Note: Confirmation letter from the University, College or School together with ‘study-visa’ issued by the Chinese Immigration and Citizenship Department (original and 2 copies)
6. For Worker
Note: Working visa issued by the Chinese Immigration and Citizenship Department (original and two copies)
7. Three (3) coloured photos of 3.5cm x 5.0cm size with a white background
Additional Documents for Children Fewer than 18 Years Old:
i. One (1) copy of Parents Consent form of Borang A1/B1 (IM.42A-Pin1/93) – can be obtained at the Consulate General
ii. Certificate of Birth Registration (original and 2 copies), for Malaysian under 12 years old and first-time applicants
iii. Passport of the parents (original and 2 copies)
iv. Malaysian I/C of the parents (original and 2 copies)
v. Permanent Residence Card of the parents (Malaysian ONLY) / work-permit / study-permit (original and 2 copies)
vi. Certificate of Marriage of the parents (original and 2 copies) – required for the first-time applicants
EXTENSION OF THE VALIDITY OF THE MALAYSIAN PASSPORT
Currently, the Malaysian International Passport can no longer be extended. Upon expiry, a new passport application must be made to replace the expired passport.
LOST OF TRAVEL DOCUMENTS/PASSPORT ABROAD
Report the loss at the nearest Police Station and at the nearest Malaysian Mission. Address, telephone number and e-mail is available in the main page of this website.
Documents required to be submitted are as follows:
i. A copy of the police report
ii. Other documents that can be used as proof of citizenship
* An Emergency Certificate will be issued by the Mission which would enable the person to travel home to Malaysia (one way trip).
