In the evening of 31 December 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the 2025 Guangxi New Silk Road New Year E-commerce Festival Gala, at the Guangxi Culture and Arts Centre.

The event was hosted by Guangxi Government and co-organized by several local government agencies namely Guangxi Department of Commerce and Guangxi Department of Culture and Tourism. The event was also supported by Consulate General of Malaysia, Embassy of Brunei Darussalam to China and other ASEAN missions in Nanning and Guangzhou.
The event was graced by H.E. Liao Pinhu, Vice Governor of Guangxi Government. H.E. Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia was among the leaders delivering video remarks during the opening ceremony.

Featuring quality specialty products from Guangxi and ASEAN countries such as bird nest from Malaysia, durian from Thailand and coffee from Vietnam, the festival provided the platform to promote online sales of New Year goods in conjunction with the upcoming Spring Festival celebration. It will last until February 2025.
