On 29 April 2025, the Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the 2025 International Medical Innovation and Cooperation Forum, at the Glory Charm Hotel in Fangchenggang City, Guangxi.

Co-hosted by the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission (GNFCC) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and Guangxi People’s Government, the Forum was held to deepen medical innovation and cooperation with member states of the SCO and ASEAN, as well as countries participating in the Belt and Road cooperation.
More than 400 representatives, including state leaders, provincial and ministerial-level officials, diplomatic envoys, leading experts and scholars in the fields of medicine and healthcare, and heads of medical institutions and pharmaceutical enterprises from SCO member states conducted in-depth exchanges on the innovative development of medical and health care industry, standards for nutrition and health food, among others.
During the event, Dr. E Siong Tee, Immediate Past President of Nutrition Society of Malaysia joined a roundtable discussion and shared his insights on the challenges and strategies on global mutual recognition of nutrition and health claims.
The event was graced by H.E. Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairwoman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, state-level leaders of Belarus and Cambodia and senior officials from China, SCO member states and ASEAN.
