On 20 March 2026, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the 2026 “Longtaitou Festival” Intangible Cultural Heritage event, at the Longmen Waterfront Scenic Area in Nanning.

“Longtaitou,” which literally means the dragon raising its head, falls on the second day of the second lunar month, marking the return of spring. In traditional belief, the dragon is the deity governing rainfall that symbolizes the arrival of spring rains and the beginning of the farming season.
The event served as a platform for cultural exchanges and fostering mutual understanding among participants, highlighting the enduring charm of traditional culture.

Also in attendance were Ms. Peng Jian, Director of Nanning Foreign Affairs Office, diplomats from other ASEAN missions in Nanning, and representatives of local cultural organizations.
