On 22 October 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the 5th International Conference on Deepening Cooperation with ASEAN in Agricultural Science and Technology, at Guangxi Wharton International Hotel. The event serves as a platform for knowledge sharing on the latest trends, challenges and innovation in agriculture.
During the event, Professor Dr. Siva Kumar Balasundram from Universiti Putra Malaysia delivered a keynote speech on Data-Driven Agriculture from a Malaysian Perspective. He shared his insights on the benefits and potential of smart farming and digital agriculture, which will help build sustainable food systems and contribute to a more resilient and sustainable future.
The Consul General took the opportunity to engage with Professor Dr. Siva Kumar during the event and exchanged information on the modern agriculture cooperation between Malaysia and China.
Also in attendance were H.E. Xu Xianhui, Vice Governor of Guangxi Government, diplomats from other missions in Nanning, experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from China and ASEAN countries.
